After dabbling in various fields over the last decade including fashion, marketing and construction, staunch entrepreneur of note Maggie Mboyane is now successfully running her own recruitment company, CV desk. After four years in the business, CV desk has successfully built a high profile that attracts a stream of quality employment from national and international companies as they endeavour to supply quality and innovative services to all clients.
Speaking of the journey, Maggie said the secret recipe to their success is their strife to not only bring the best candidates for their clients, but also to assist candidates to present themselves in the best way possible to attract prospective employers. “We aim to secure, retain, and align talent towards our clients’ strategic goals, whilst supporting individual candidates to actualize their potential, manage their aspirations, and achieve their career aspirations,” said Maggie.
The 33 year old mother of one said her strong-willed, driven, down to earth, and inspirational parents and four siblings are her biggest motivators.
“Our family stands together at all times, we pray for each other, find solutions to problems together and although once in a while there might be misunderstandings, we always choose each other,” said Maggie.
Maggie said she has faced many challenges in her entrepreneurial journey particularly at the start of her career all those many years ago with the biggest lesson being to be very careful when selecting business partners as these can easily make or break you. She however said she was grateful for her mentor at the time who helped navigate the process. “The thing with challenges is, they shape the person you will be tomorrow so these have to be faced head-on,” said Maggie.
The upper-crust businesswoman, however would not rather be anything else in the world as she enjoys nothing more than setting a goal and achieving it.
“There is no satisfaction quite like there is in growing a successful business. To take an idea and bring it to life is wonderful. When that idea also positively impacts those around you, it is a fantastic feeling,” said Maggie.
To aspiring entrepreneurs Maggie says, just do it, “Address the excuses, so many people dream of becoming entrepreneurs, but they never do because they’re burdened with excuses and fears of failing. From money to time to responsibilities, you can make a million cases for not starting a business, address these excuses and get started already. Secondly, be a solution, rather than starting your idea with what to sell, think about what it will solve. It’s a lot easier to gain a solid customer base when your business is fixing a problem. Your start-up should fill a hole in a certain market or niche,” said Maggie.
