Roberta Naicker (born 1973) is a South African business executive and the Managing Director for Africa Business News The ABN Group owns the much-esteemed international brands such CNBC Africa and Forbes Africa providing a broadcast and print platform respectively. Through these international brands, ABN group is today Africa’s leading aggregator and distributor of business and economic news. The ABN Group also offers resources to organise world-class events across the African continent, through ABN Event Productions.
The ABN Group has offices across the Africa continent namely Nigeria, Kenya, and Rwanda and through these regional offices they have been telling the African business news story – first for the past 12 years has told.
Roberta joined the ABN Group in February 2008 as the Head of Finance and served in various key positions prior to being appointed Managing Director. Apart from overseeing the business strategy, she is also responsible for the Group’s strategic growth and opportunities across the African continent.
Roberta enrolled at the University of Durban Westville in the early 90’ and has attended Effective Strategies for Media Companies program at Harvard Business School, which is a leadership development program discussing the changes in the media landscape.
Roberta serves on many boards across the continent as an Executive Director and is Chairperson of the ABN Education Trust whose mandate is to provide mentorship and support for women and the next generation financial journalists across the continent.
In August 2018 Roberta was awarded The Top Businesswoman of the Year Award at the Standard Bank TOP WOMEN Awards, and on February 2019 was awarded the Global Women’s Super-Achiever Award at the 6th World Women Leadership Congress & Awards in Mumbai.
